Eating Recovery Center makes a total commitment to our referring therapists, and recognizes the benefits of engaging them throughout the treatment process.
Even before your patient admits to Eating Recovery Center, our Clinical Assessment team will work with you during a rigorous pre-admission assessment phase to collect extensive information and insight to help our senior clinical team make an informed treatment recommendation, and establish preferred methods of communication to keep you engaged in the treatment process. Within the first 72 hours of your patient admitting into one of our levels of care, their primary therapist will contact you to provide status updates and discuss your involvement throughout the treatment process.
Referring professionals are encouraged to participate in weekly meetings with Eating Recovery Center’s treatment team and your patient throughout the course of treatment. While these weekly meetings seek to inform you about your patient’s recovery progress and offer you an opportunity to share clinical wisdom, they are also designed to orient you to Eating Recovery Center’s treatment philosophy, model and interventions. Direct communication with outpatient clinicians greatly facilitates the “hand off” of patients following discharge from treatment.
Eating Recovery Center’s Aftercare Coordinators, who are tasked solely with understanding the patient and crafting an effective post-treatment plan of care from the time of admission, communicate with referring providers regarding the date of discharge, make appointments and ensure comprehensive understanding of the treatment the patient has received and the proposed post-discharge plan. Should patients require additional outpatient specialists to maintain recovery progress, the Aftercare Coordinator will work with referring professionals to create this team, drawing from the Continued Care Network, an extensive database of trusted providers with familiarity of Eating Recovery Center’s eating disorders treatment approach. Within two weeks of discharge, they will conduct follow up with both outpatient providers and the patient to gauge whether or not the discharge plan is working, and facilitate adjustments accordingly.
Continued Care Network
In an effort to support the patient’s transition from Eating Recovery Center’s intensive programs to outpatient care, Aftercare Coordinators maintain an extensive database of competent professionals with experience in the treatment of eating disorders and familiarity with Eating Recovery Center’s treatment approach. The Continued Care Network facilitates ongoing communication with Eating Recovery Center as a means for orienting outpatient providers to our treatment model and educating them about the treatment philosophy and interventions. Members receive regular information and announcements from Eating Recovery Center, and are considered as Aftercare Coordinators create multidisciplinary treatment teams to support patients’ recoveries following discharge. To join the Continued Care Network, please complete the fields in the form below and press “Submit.”
