Julie Holland Faylor, MHS, CEDS (Certified Eating Disorders Specialist) joined Eating Recovery Center in 2009 as Chief Marketing Officer overseeing marketing and admissions for all Eating Recovery Center programs across the country. She was instrumental in establishing the highly visible and respected Eating Recovery Center as a national brand, as well as implementing admissions processes and marketing strategies tailored to the unique needs of patients, families and professionals touched by eating disorders.
In addition to her marketing expertise, Julie is also a nationally recognized eating disorder treatment professional with over 30 years of clinical experience in the field. Her unique fusion of clinical and marketing expertise has been instrumental in expanding awareness of and access to quality eating disorders care for patients and families, and in providing leading-edge professional education for eating disorders professionals.
Prior to joining Eating Recovery Center, Julie served as VP, Business Development, Eating Disorders Programs for CRC Health Group and served as Executive Director of the International Institute for Trauma and Addiction Professionals, overseeing the credentialing program for CSATs. Julie served as Director, Professional Relations and Education at the Renfrew Centers of Philadelphia and Ft. Lauderdale, and was the Director of the Eating Disorders Program at the Clark Center at Memorial Medical Center in Savannah, Georgia.
Julie currently serves on the Board of Directors, is an Approved Supervisor for the International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals (iaedp™), and served as Certification Director for over 11 years. Julie was instrumental in the development of iaedp’s Certified Eating Disorders Specialist (CEDS) certification, the only internationally-recognized certification for eating disorders professionals. In her iaedp™ roles, she participates in organizational governance and mentors local, regional and national professionals as they pursue this credential, which has become widely synonymous with excellence in eating disorders treatment.
In addition, Julie is active in the Denver community and sits on the Excelsior Youth Board of Directors. She was a 2013 Finalist for Denver Business Journal Outstanding Women in Business in Healthcare.
Julie is considered a go-to expert for journalists writing about eating disorders. She has been interviewed by many media outlets, including Vogue, Marie Claire, Good Housekeeping, Family Circle and Reuters, and has provided expert insights to local television networks in Denver, Raleigh, Gainesville, Savannah, and several other cities. She is the National Eating Disorder expert for Examiner.com and is a regular contributor to Mom Dishes It Out. Julie received her Master’s degree in Health Science with an emphasis in Counseling from Georgia Southern University and her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Armstrong State College.
