Episode 9: Baby Body? Pregnancy and Body Image with Lauren Hill


We all see the dramatic photos of celebrities looking toned and thin immediately following the birth of their child... Is that really what we should strive for?
Join us as we talk frankly with Lauren Hill about her experiences with body image and pregnancy. We'll discuss what's most important for our bodies and our family during and after birth, how partners, friends, and family can support us best, and how to navigate this unique time with love. 

We also get the perspective of Kate Daigle, a Licensed Professional Counselor who is currently writing a book on fertility and eating disorders. 




About me:

My name is Lauren Hill and I live in Wilmington, NC with my husband Brandon, our newborn daughter Emma, and our dog Zoey.  I am in recovery from anorexia nervosa and have been recovered for over four years now.  I work as a counselor and love being able to help others navigate their own recovery journeys.  I gave birth to my first child, Emma Vail, in November 2017 and am having so much fun being her mom!

Fun facts:

  • I have a miniature dachshund named Zoey who we call my "recovery dog".  I got her early in my recovery and she has been one of my best friends and such a big support in my recovery.

  • One of my dreams is to travel to Australia

  • Emma's middle name "Vail" was chosen because Brandon and I got engaged in Vail, Colorado 

  • Current favorite things: re-watching "The Office" on Netflix, listening to the "Love, Food" podcast by Julie Duffy Dillon, and just staring at my beautiful daughter for hours and hours and hours
