Every Spring, the media bombards the public with photos, ads and articles about the “perfect bikini body.” The media assures us that we can obtain a six-pack in seven easy steps, we can get rid of our cellulite forever and one magical pill will turn our winter weight gain into a hot beach bod in days. The heat is on – not just outside, but internally for some. The pressure to shed the pounds is in full force, and this pressure may come at far too high a cost.
