The Recovery Ambassador Council is a small group of alumni and family members who share personal stories of recovery, commit to supporting individuals and families affected by eating disorders, and raise awareness about mental health issues and hope for recovery in the greater community. The Recovery Ambassador Council advances the mission of ERC: to provide the very best care to patients, families, and providers of care in the treatment of, and recovery from, eating disorders and related conditions.

We have known for a long time that popular culture promotes unrealistic and impossible ideals for women, but this notion has become very true for men as well. Most practitioners are familiar with the statistic that ten percent of eating disorders occur in males. However, a recent Harvard study found that approximately 25 percent of people with eating disorders are male.
