For years, I tried to hide within my body. When I was 9 years old, I hid from my parents’ fighting by binge eating in the pantry. The sounds of my chewing drowned out the sounds of their accusations. Of course, I was terrified as they screamed accusations at me. So, I hid. Here's my story about how I was finally found.

Binge eating disorder (BED) is now the most common type of eating disorder. Sadly, only about 30 percent of those with the condition seek treatment – many times because people do not realize that binge eating is, in fact, an eating disorder. We share the myths and realities of BED with you here.
