Top Reasons You Can’t Miss this Year’s Conference

9th Annual Eating Recovery Foundation Conference
Friday, August 4 & Saturday, August 5, 2017
Denver, CO

There are many great conferences in the eating disorder field, and I’m frequently asked, “Why should I spend time away from my private practice, and make the financial investment to attend your conference?”

I know you may think I’m a little biased, but when you read what conference attendees have to say, you’ll see there are many reasons why you should attend. Here are the four reasons I most commonly hear:
  • “I can’t believe what a fantastic value this was, 14.5 CE at this price!”
  • “I always learn something new.
  • “There are so many incredible opportunities to collaborate.”
  • “I leave reenergized by the inspirational stories of recovery.”
Here’s what 2016 attendees had to say about their experience, and why you can’t miss the 2017 event:
  • It’s a fantastic value. At $19 per CE/CME credit hour, the registration fee is more affordable than most other conferences and the schedule limits the number of days away from your practice. The planning committee works hard to maintain exceptional content quality and diversity in the range of topics, and select presenters based on subject matter expertise. As one 2016 attendee said, “Exemplary venue, wonderful meals and refreshments, well organized, and most importantly, exceptional presenters and content.” You can expect a great experience, from all aspects, again at this year’s conference.
  • Learn something new. What do you know about Emotionally Focused Family Therapy? How can we best support the LGBTQ+ community in the identification and treatment of eating disorders? What can we do to increase the odds of maintaining recovery after treatment? Attendees consistently tell us they always learning something new year-after-year, just like one 2016 attendee said, “I have been attending this conference since its inception, and it has improved every year. Best ERC Conference I’ve been to so far!” With new topics and presenters on the agenda, this year’s conference promises to be the best yet, and to always teach you something new.
  • Unmatched opportunities to collaborate. You’ll experience face-to-face time with eating disorder treatment thought leaders to ask questions and hear about new research and innovation in the field. ERC is committed to best practice sharing, and you’ll experience it first-hand throughout the two-day event. Last year, one attendee said, “As a physician I was thrilled to hear Dr. Mehler speak. That is what drew me to this conference and allowed me to get funding.” Dr. Mehler and many other esteemed experts will be accessible throughout the event for discussion before and after their sessions.
  • Reenergize through inspirational stories of recovery. It’s important to be reminded that recovery is possible, and to “remember the why” behind what we do every day. You’ll have the opportunity to hear voices of recovery through the personal stories of family members and recovered patients. This sums up what we hear from attendees every year, one 2016 professional said, “It was my first time attending and I was fascinated.” Give yourself the gift of reenergizing and reconnecting with your reasons why.
Don’t just listen to what I have to say, one 2016 conference attendee said, “This was one of the best conferences I have attended!” Join us this year and experience it for yourself! I hope to see you there.
