Dr. Rebecca Wagner Joins Eating Recovery Center, Houston
New Clinical Director brings extensive expertise in assessment and treatment of eating disorders, and other complex mental disorders to Houston-based center
Eating Recovery Center, Houston, (ERC Houston), a trusted provider of comprehensive treatment for eating disorders, announced today the addition of Dr. Rebecca Wagner to its clinical leadership team. Dr. Wagner, who previously worked at ERC, returns to work with the existing multidisciplinary team of experts at ERC Houston as Clinical Director to provide best-in-class treatment for eating disorders.
Rebecca Wagner, Ph.D. returns to ERC after her role as a primary therapist at ERC Denver from 2008-2009. In between, she worked at The Menninger Clinic in Houston, Texas in three different roles: Program Manager of the Professionals in Crisis unit; Coordinator of the Eating Disorder Track; and Director of Eating Disorder Services. While at Menninger, she also served as an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences at Baylor College of Medicine. In addition to specializing in the assessment and treatment of eating disorders as well as other complex mental disorders, Dr. Wagner has given numerous lectures and presentations on eating disorders and published several manuscripts on this topic.
As Dr. Wagner joins the ERC Houston team, Dr. Theresa Fassihi will step down from her role as Executive Director to focus on expanding her own private outpatient practice. Dr. Fassihi, who helped found ERC Houston (formerly Houston Eating Disorders Center) in 2010, is a licensed clinical psychologist with 15 years of experience in treating eating disorders in inpatient and outpatient settings.
“Dr. Wagner brings key insight and perspective to ERC Houston in the assessment and treatment of eating and other mental disorders,” says Michelle Beaudoin, President of ERC Houston. “Her addition to the team complements our continuous growth and expansion, as we recently moved to a larger facility in the Houston Medical Center to offer more amenities and greater access to care.”
