Early and Effective Use of Clinical Intervention for Eating Disorder Patients
“Getting a loved one to agree to accept help and finding support services for all family members are the first steps to healing. An intervention is often the first step.” - Substance Use and Mental Health Services Administration.
Kristin Agar, LCSW expands, “Why are we waiting so long? There are so many misconceptions about intervention.”
Kristin will be presenting on clinical intervention as the first phase of eating disorder treatment at this year’s Eating Recovery Foundation Conference in October. During her presentation, she will discuss the process itself and the benefits for patients, families and treatment providers. Using experientials, case studies and media presentations, participants will leave this session with a different perspective on intervention and see the value of it as a loving and healing process.
We invite you to join us for Kristin’s presentation in person at the Westin Denver Downtown or via livestream to learn what intervention is, what it is not, and how it can be used effectively to stop the damage being done to the patient and the family system.
The 11th Annual Eating Recovery Foundation Conference brings together distinguished eating disorder treatment experts to discuss the trends, developments, and emerging best practices shaping the field. This conference is appropriate for all members of the treatment community, including physicians, therapists, nurses, dietitians, social workers, educators, and advocacy organizations.
