Houston Eating Disorders Center is Now Eating Recovery Center of Houston
Eating Recovery Center, a leading provider of eating disorder treatment based in Denver, CO and with multiple facilities across six states, has partnered with Houston Eating Disorders Center. The Houston-based center will now be known as Eating Recovery Center of Houston. Founded in 2010 as a joint effort between Theresa Fassihi, PhD, CEDS, Co-Founder and Executive Director, Eating Recovery Center of Houston and Ovidio Bermudez, MD, CEDS, Eating Recovery Center’s Chief Clinical Officer and Medical Director of Child and Adolescent Services, Eating Recovery Center of Houston offers Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient programs for female and male adults and adolescents in Houston and surrounding areas. A multidisciplinary treatment team has extensive experience working with eating disorders as well as personality disorders, mood disorders, substance abuse, anxiety and trauma, which occur frequently alongside eating disorders. Our integrative treatment model includes Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills training, process group, body image interventions, nutritional education, family involvement and medical support. As an Eating Recovery Center partner program, Eating Recovery Center of Houston collaborates closely with Eating Recovery Center’s five internationally recognized experts, who together possess over 160 years of specific eating disorder treatment experience. Additionally, Houston-based patients requiring a higher level of care can transfer seamlessly to Eating Recovery Center’s Denver-based Inpatient and Residential programs for adults and adolescents. Following medical and/or psychiatric stabilization in Denver, patients return to Eating Recovery Center of Houston to continue their recovery journey in the context of their own community.
