Medical Director, Psychiatrist

Dr. Tyler A. Wooten is a child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist who is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and has been a practicing psychiatrist and psychotherapist for over 20 years. He entered medical school in 1995 with the sole intention of becoming a pediatric psychiatrist. Dr. Wooten began college at Southern Methodist University on a fine arts scholarship in the Meadows School.

His path towards understanding and meaning ultimately led him to be interested in the study of psychotherapy. He entered medical school at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, in his hometown of Little Rock, and after graduation began his medical internship at the University of Virginia.

He completed his general adult residency at UT Southwestern Medical Center and went on to advance training in a pediatric psychiatry fellowship at Children’s Medical Center. Dr. Wooten left his private practice at Uptown Analytic Practices in January 2016 and became the Medical Director of Eating Recovery Center, Dallas. He feels he has been most inspired as a clinician by eating disorders, drug and alcohol addictions, and his past work in the juvenile detention system.
