Emily Hartl, MA, LCPC

Emily Hartl is a Primary Therapist at Eating Recovery Center in the Oak Brook, IL location. Emily has worked in the PHP and IOP levels of care at Eating Recovery Center, treating both adult and adolescent populations. Her work includes individual therapy, family therapy, group therapy, and meal support. Emily has previous experience in residential treatment centers, community mental health, and in private practice. She completed her bachelor’s degree in Psychology at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Emily completed one year abroad at the University of Manchester, taking elective courses in psychology, sociology, language pragmatics, and gender studies. She then went on to obtain her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Governors State University. Emily is currently working towards a certification as a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDS) through the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals. Emily utilizes multiple treatment modalities including Radically Open Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Exposure Response Prevention, Emotion-Focused Family Therapy, cognitive-behavioral approaches, psychodynamic process, and trauma-informed psychology.
