In this 90-minute workshop, we will discuss how eating disorders may present in trans and/or nonbinary clients in college settings. Attendees will learn skills in providing affirming care that takes into account the nuances of how trans and/or nonbinary people experience eating disorders.

The target audience for this continuing education program is mental health providers and clinicians working with individuals with mental health diagnoses. Materials are appropriate for learners with an introductory level of understanding about mental health concerns.

Educational Objectives:

Following this presentation, participants will be able to…

  • Describe 1-2 differences in how trans clients may experience eating disorders compared to cisgender populations.

  • Name 1-2 external constraints that affect trans clients seeking treatment in a college setting.

  • Discuss provider biases and how these may impact a trans client's opportunity to recover in treatment settings.

We look forward to connecting with you for a day of conversation and education. If you have questions about this event, or need more information, please reach out to Caitlyn Lange at
