Learn from Peers and Experts and Earn CE Credits

Participants will acquire a wide variety of ideas for individual interventions, for small group engagements and for school wide initiatives. The practices and resources presented can be implemented with both virtual and onsite school settings.

Attend one or both of the sessions offered each month throughout the school year and summer months.  It is not necessary to register for both sessions in the same month.

For School Professionals: Earn 1 CE credit hour per presentation

Upon completion of each session, participants will receive:

Mental Health Resources for School Professionals

Join this CE event created for school professionals that offers a unique experience with resources and interventions focused on mental health concerns in the school setting.  With children in their classrooms either virtually or onsite for the majority of the day, school professionals are in a key position to offer support to students and to their families. The presentation will provide an overview of the nature and causes of mental health concerns, approaches to enhance supports to students and a review of the latest resources for implementation.

Eating Disorders 101 for School Professionals

Join this CE event created for school professionals to better understand eating disorders and the impact they have on individuals and their families.  Eating disorders are particularly relevant to school-aged students; most eating disorders emerge during this time of development.  Eating disorders can affect a young person’s physical health, mental health and social development.  This presentation is designed to provide an overview of eating disorders, to assist in identifying online symptom checklists, and to help create a toolbox of practical approaches and resources.

About Beth Ayn Stansfield, MEd

Beth Ayn brings a unique skill-set to her role as the Coordinator of Project Outreach. She has worked with educators, students and families for over thirty-five years as an educator, behavioral specialist, counselor and administrator in the field of education. In addition, she served as adjunct faculty at Virginia Commonwealth University in their Department of Education.

While supporting her daughter through recovery, Beth Ayn began on-going training in the field of eating disorders and mental health first aid. Attending national conferences, completing certifications and receiving praise for her extensive knowledge of resources. Beth Ayn has since accepted engagements: podcasts, radio, newspaper/periodical contributions, and in-person community events.

Beth Ayn is the Founder/Director of Stay Strong Virginia, 501(c) providing resources across the Commonwealth of Virginia. On a national level, Beth Ayn holds the title of National Family Advocate for the Eating Recovery Center | Pathlight Behavioral Health Centers. In addition, she serves as the Educational Chair for the Richmond International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals Chapter and she serves on the Advisory Council’s Friends Group for the Virginia Treatment Center for Children.
