Joanna Nolan

Alum and Recovery Ambassador Council Member

After struggling with an undiagnosed eating disorder, for the majority of her life, Joanna is driven to help de-stigmatize and educate her community through vulnerably and transparently sharing her story. She is passionate about the need for public awareness, education, and proactive treatment of eating disorders and mental illness in general. Joanna lives life authentically and joyfully, and in doing so, promotes and encourages health at every size, body acceptance, hope, and recovery along the way. In recovery from bulimia, she was able to recognize her worth and personal value and was able to share that alongside Candace Cameron Bure on the Dr. Oz Show.

Joanna's speaking topics include: recovery from OSFED, atypical eating disorder, bullying, feeling like you don’t fit in to “normal” eating disorder diagnoses, and eating disorders undetected by family.
