Eating Recovery Center Baltimore - O'Dea

Located in the beautiful suburbs just north of the city, ERC Baltimore serves medically-stable adults, adolescents, and children. Our eating disorder programs provide evidence-based treatment for individuals of all ages and genders with a variety of eating disorders and co-occurring illnesses.

At our O’Dea Facility we offer 7-day/week Child & Adolescent Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) led by a multidisciplinary treatment team of professionals including board-certified psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, licensed therapists and registered dietitians.  The opening of the O’Dea facility in March 2021 allowed for a much needed expansion of PHP services at Eating Recovery Center Baltimore and addressed the growing need for more high-quality services for kids and teens with eating disorders throughout the mid-Atlantic region. The Partial Hospitalization Program actively engages families in the recovery process and is rooted in evidence-based approaches to treating eating disorders. This includes using key tenets of Family-Based Treatment (FBT), weekly multi-family meals/groups and monthly Family Day Q&A events.

Conveniently located on the campus of University of Maryland St. Joseph Medical Center, our O’Dea facility sits in the heart of Towson, Maryland, close to medical resources, key community locations, and recreational highlights including popular restaurants and shopping districts. Local options for housing during PHP and IOP are also available very close to all of our ERC Baltimore locations.

  • Eating Recovery Center Baltimore is a welcoming, affirming facility and we serve patients of all gender identities
  • A multidisciplinary eating disorder treatment team of professionals oversees all levels of care, including Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient programs
  • Every individual at all levels of care has access to Psychiatry Consultation and Medical Management, Individual Therapy, Group Therapies, Family Therapy and Nutritional Counseling. Specific types of treatment are determined by individual needs and the treatment planning process.
  • Collaboration with family and supports will be emphasized for all patients. In addition to family therapy, there is a monthly family day that affords family education and skills development for supports.
  • Our Maryland teammates works closely with Denver-based Eating Recovery Center, an international center to provide a seamless transition to a higher level of care (Inpatient and Residential programs), if needed.

Eating Disorders Programs:

  • ERC Baltimore treats adolescents and children (ages 10 and older) with anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder, ARFID and other unspecified eating disorders and general body image disturbances.
  • PHP and virtual Intensive Outpatient levels of care are available locally to support each individual at whatever stage of recovery they may be in and whatever their individual treatment needs may be. Frequent communication and coordination with local outpatient community providers as well as our colleagues in ERC inpatient and residential programs nationwide ensures continuity of care and positive outcomes.
