Inpatient Program

Though Inpatient programming offers 24/7 medical support, adult patients are not confined to a hospital bed or room. To the extent that they are physically able, adult patients at the Inpatient level of care are encouraged to participate in programming and interact with a supportive treatment community of adult patients and staff.

In addition to offering 24/7 nursing supervision, medical management and the oversight of a full-time internal medicine physician, our Inpatient programs are located in close proximity to medical campuses. This proximity allows the treatment team to address the medical complications that often accompany eating disorders, and supports a seamless transition to acute care should emergency medical intervention become necessary.

Medical Hospitalization for Extreme Eating Disorders

Extremely low-weight adult patients may require medical stabilization prior to admission. In such circumstances, Eating Recovery Center partners with the ACUTE Center for Eating Disorders at Denver Health. Patients stabilizing at ACUTE receive intensive medical support. The ACUTE team and Eating Recovery Center treatment teams collaborate to facilitate a successful transition to Inpatient eating disorder treatment.

Inpatient Eating Disorder Treatment for Children and Teenagers

Eating Recovery Center's Child and Adolescent Inpatient Eating Disorder Treatment Program is designed to support children and teens that are acutely ill and experiencing medical instability as a result of their eating disorder.

While the Inpatient level of care offers 24/7 medical and psychological support to address the physical complications that often arise as a result of an eating disorder, adolescent patients are not confined to a hospital bed or to their room. To the extent that they are physically able, adolescent patients are encouraged to participate in community meetings, groups and individual therapy and interact with the supportive eating disorder treatment community of patients and staff.
