Theodore Weltzin, MD, FAED, FAPA, joined Eating Recovery Center in 2021. Dr. Weltzin has been involved in treatment and research related to eating disorders for 30 years and is internationally recognized as a Expert in Eating Disorder Research and Treatment. He was on the faculty  at the University of Pittsburgh, Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic from 1988 to 1994 and he served as the medical director of the Inpatient Center for Overcoming Problem Eating during that time. Dr. Weltzin was also on the faculty at the University of Wisconsin as the director of the Depression Treatment Program.

Dr. Weltzin is a member of the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals (IAEDP), and has received certification as an Eating Disorder Specialist. He is also a member of the Academy of Eating Disorders and has been honored as a Fellow of the Academy of Eating Disorders. Dr. Weltzin is also a member of the Eating Disorder Research Society. He held the position of Medical Director of all Eating Disorder Services at Rogers Memorial Hospital from 2001 to 2014 and was the Medical Director of Regional Psychiatric Services at Rogers Memorial Hospital from January 2015 to March 2016.

Dr. Weltzin has written over 50 publications, lectured internationally and appeared as an expert on CNN, CBS and Good Morning America. He has served on the Board of Directors for the Eating Disorder Coalition as well as the editorial board for "Eating Disorders: The Journal of Treatment and Prevention."
