Learn from the Leaders is an in-person education and networking event organized by ERC Pathlight. The event features several thought leaders including Dr. Anne Marie O'Melia, Dr. Kim Anderson, Dr. Ovidio Bermudez, Dr. Steven Crawford, Dr. Charles Brady, Ellen Astrachan-Fletcher, Caitlin Royster and others who will be discussing various topics related to their field. It is a great opportunity for attendees to learn from the experts and network with other professionals.

This is a revision of the medical updates talk we have been giving in TX and WA reviewing what we know still to be true about the biology of eating disorders and starvation along with medical advances such as ketamine treatment, changes in the clinical presentation of ED in the case of AAN and weight inclusive care, etc.

This presentation will review cultural differences in eating disorder treatment, highlighting specific adaptations for the Latina/o/x and Jewish populations. The aim is to highlight cultural influences on the clinical presentation of eating disorders and to discuss cases examples to demonstrate how we can modify our treatment approach to accommodate different cultural identities.

2:00 PM- 3:00 PM | Complex Comorbidity: Case series review of Co-occurring ARFID, Trauma, and OCD

In this presentation leaders will review complex ARFID cases that present with co-occurring conditions such as trauma and OCD. The aim is to highlight complex ARFID cases and demonstrate how we integrate approaches such as CPT and ERP in conjunction with CBT-AR and FBT to treat the most complicated patients.

3:15 PM- 4:45 PM | RODBT: Working with the Overcontrolled Client

Dr. Astrachan-Fletcher will delve into working with overcontrolled patients, particularly those on the autism spectrum. Controversies surrounding the use of RODBT in these individuals will be addressed from both provider and patient perspectives, emphasizing the integration of trauma-informed care into practice.
