Alexis Canfield (she/her) is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Illinois and works as a Primary Therapist at Pathlight Mood and Anxiety in Chicago. She currently works with adult patients navigating mood and anxiety disorders (including post-traumatic stress disorder, bipolar disorder, and obsessive-compulsive disorder). Alexis has worked in residential and partial hospitalization levels of care with mood and anxiety disorders. Alexis has previous experience working in non-profits providing therapy and case management to survivors of sexual violence and intimate partner violence. Alexis completed her Bachelor's of Social Work at Colorado State University. She then completed her Master of Social Work at Boston University. Alexis is passionate about creating safe and brave spaces for patients, supporting patients to challenge themselves and grow, and has special interest in working with queer and trans patients. Alexis’s preferred treatment modalities and areas that she is curious about continuing to learn about include Radically Open Dialectical Behavior Therapy (RODBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Acceptance and Commitment (ACT), trauma-informed therapy, and somatic- based techniques.
