Dennis Gibson, MD, FACP, CEDS-S, is a PRN Primary Care Physician working in our Denver, CO locations. He brings nearly a decade of specialized experience in the medical management of eating disorders and complex medical comorbidities, with a passion for integrating physical and mental health care in a compassionate and research-informed way.

Originally from Chillicothe, Illinois, Dr. Gibson moved throughout the country for his education, completing his undergraduate studies at Albion College, medical school at Southern Illinois University, and internal medicine residency at the University of South Florida. His introduction to the field of eating disorders in 2016 sparked a lasting interest, and he has since developed deep expertise in treating patients with severe malnutrition and related complications. Prior to joining ERC Pathlight, Dr. Gibson spent nine years at the ACUTE Center for Eating Disorders and Severe Malnutrition, where he not only provided care but also contributed to national research and education efforts.

Dr. Gibson is an Associate Professor at the University of Colorado School of Medicine and a recipient of the Best Teacher Award in 2015. He is board-certified in internal medicine, a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, and holds membership in IAEDP and AED. His research includes over 25 peer-reviewed publications and multiple book chapters addressing the medical consequences of eating disorders, underscoring his commitment to advancing knowledge in this evolving field.

Outside of work, Dr. Gibson enjoys spending time with his family, exploring the Colorado mountains, and listening to music of all kinds. He remains driven by a desire to continue learning and improving care for patients navigating the complex intersection of medical illness and mental health.
