Ian Parsley, MD, MPH

Ian Parsley, MD, MPH, is a board-certified psychiatrist practicing at our Willow facility in Denver, Colorado, where he provides specialized care for individuals and families navigating complex mental health challenges. With dual training in adult psychiatry and child and adolescent psychiatry, as well as expertise in addiction medicine, Dr. Parsley brings a versatile and compassionate approach to treatment. His practice is grounded in evidence-based care and a strong commitment to helping patients across the lifespan achieve long-term recovery and resilience.

Dr. Parsley earned his Doctor of Medicine and Master of Public Health in Epidemiology from the University of Nebraska Medical Center, where he was inducted into both the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society and the Gold Humanism Honor Society. He went on to complete his Adult Psychiatry Residency at Washington University in St. Louis and his Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship at UT Southwestern Medical Center, where he also served as Chief Fellow.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Parsley has contributed to the field through multiple research publications, including studies on substance use disorders, ADHD, disruptive behavior disorders, and physician wellness. His research has been featured in JAMA Network Open and other peer-reviewed journals, as well as covered by national media outlets such as NPR and CBS. He has presented at major conferences including the American Psychiatric Association, the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, and the Research Society on Alcoholism.

Dr. Parsley is an active member of numerous professional organizations, including the American Psychiatric Association, the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, and the Society of Biological Psychiatry. His treatment experience spans inpatient, outpatient, residential, and intensive outpatient settings, with particular expertise in eating disorders, substance use disorders, and complex co-occurring conditions.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Parsley is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys backcountry hiking, mountain climbing, bouldering, long-distance running, and traveling internationally. He also values time spent cooking, reading, practicing mindfulness meditation, and playing strategy board games.
