Laura Ferguson has enjoyed working in the behavioral health field for 25 years. She provided direct care as a clinician in many types of settings, including community mental health centers, residential treatment, jails, emergency departments, and private practice. She later moved into other areas, gaining valuable experience in program development, healthcare policy, regulatory compliance, clinical quality, training, and clinical operations. She enjoys building healthy, happy, high-functioning teams and strives to foster environments in which folks look forward to coming to work each day to do this challenging and valuable work. Laura's behavioral health interests include: building collaborative relationships with community partners; operationalization of equity, diversity, and inclusion best practices; fostering healthy organizational culture; ensuring systems are in place for continuous quality improvement so patients receive the best care possible; and improving systemic access to behavioral health services. Laura especially values creativity, community, and lived experience. For those who are familiar with StrengthsFinder, Laura's top five strengths are Input, Strategic, Connectedness, Relator, and Maximizer. When she's not at work, Laura loves playing with her two grandbabies, hiking the beautiful Colorado trails, traveling, live music, books, and all the dogs.
