Physician Assistant

She/Her/Hers

Michelle Roberts, MCMS, PA-C is a Psychiatric Physician Assistant serving patients at ERC Pathlight’s Irvine, California location. With a rich background in primary care, urgent care, and eating disorder treatment, Michelle brings a holistic, integrative approach to patient care that reflects her deep commitment to both medical and mental health recovery.

Originally from Escondido in North County San Diego, Michelle began her academic journey at Azusa Pacific University. Her early volunteer work in a rural hospital in Ghana sparked a passion for global health and healthcare equity. She returned to Ghana in 2013 to lead a feasibility study on expanding physician assistant education in underserved areas. Before beginning her PA training, Michelle worked in pediatric primary care for three years, further grounding her in compassionate, patient-centered care.

Michelle earned her Master of Clinical Medical Science and Physician Assistant Certificate at Barry University, training on both the St. Croix and Miami campuses. Her clinical experience includes working in urgent care and primary care during the early COVID-19 pandemic, followed by a focused shift to treating individuals with eating disorders, substance use disorders, and co-occurring mental health conditions in RTC, PHP, and IOP levels of care.

Michelle’s clinical approach centers on the connection between physical and emotional health, especially within the context of eating disorder recovery. She is passionate about empowering patients through education, medical stabilization, and integrative psychiatric care.

Outside of work, Michelle enjoys spending time with family and friends, especially outdoors including gardening, hiking, camping, paddle boarding, pickleball, and golf. She also volunteers as a Host Family with Olive Crest, providing safe, temporary care to children whose families are navigating crisis.
