Dr. Victoria Shampaine is a board-certified child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist serving patients at our Bethesda, Maryland location. Originally from New York City, she brings a compassionate, collaborative approach to care that centers on strengthening family relationships and attachment-based healing.

She earned her medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, followed by a pediatric internship at Brown University/Rhode Island Hospital. She completed her Adult Psychiatry Residency at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, and went on to a Fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at NYU/Bellevue Hospital, where she served as Chief Resident.

Dr. Shampaine is passionate about treating eating disorders through evidence-based, family-centered interventions. She has extensive experience across outpatient, day treatment, and community mental health settings, and has worked with individuals facing trauma, mood and anxiety disorders, self-injurious behaviors, and serious mental illness. Since 2011, her clinical focus has been in eating disorder treatment.

Her psychiatric orientation is grounded in attachment theory and enhancing the parent-child relationship. She values the opportunity to support families during difficult times and believes in empowering caregivers as key partners in recovery.

Dr. Shampaine is a member of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (AACAP).

Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, gardening, and spending time outdoors.
