This presentation will discuss the diagnosis of binge eating disorder, risk factors for developing the diagnosis, and an overview of feeding behavior. There will be a review of the role of dieting, weight stigma, and a discussion of treatment interventions for binge eating disorder.
The target audience for this continuing education program is mental health providers and clinicians working with individuals with mental health diagnoses. Materials are appropriate for learners with an introductory level of understanding about mental health concerns.

Following this presentation, participants will be able to…
- Discuss the DSM-5 criteria for and demographics of binge eating disorder.
- Describe the impact of weight stigma and identify ways to provide weight inclusive care.
- Identify current concerns about the interaction between GLP-1 agonists and eating disorders.
