Is partial hospitalization right for me?
Partial hospitalization is often helpful when eating disorder symptoms are affecting daily life and outpatient care isn’t providing enough support. If you need structured, daily treatment but are medically stable and able to return home in the evenings, PHP may be a good fit. A brief assessment can help clarify whether this level of care meets your needs.
What’s the difference between PHP and residential treatment?
While both PHP and residential treatment offer intensive, evidence-based eating disorder care, PHP allows you to return home or to recovery housing in the evenings, while residential treatment provides 24/7 care. PHP is designed for individuals who need daily structure and support without full-time inpatient care.
Do I have to step down from residential to start PHP?
No, while some people enter PHP after residential treatment, many begin PHP directly when outpatient care isn’t enough. PHP is a standalone level of care and can be an appropriate starting point depending on your symptoms, needs, and medical stability.
What happens during a PHP assessment?
A PHP assessment is a confidential conversation with our admissions team about your eating disorder symptoms, medical history, and current challenges. It typically takes about 15 minutes and helps determine what level of care may be most supportive for you. There’s no obligation to start treatment.
Will my insurance cover partial hospitalization?
Many insurance plans cover eating disorder PHP treatment. Our admissions team can help verify your benefits, explain coverage, and walk you through next steps so you can make an informed decision.
