A National Eating Disorder Treatment Resource
The Eating Recovery Foundation (ERF) was established as a 501(c)(3) in 2012 with the following mission:
To be a national resource for individuals affected by eating disorders, as well as their families, caregivers and treating professionals. The Foundation provides information, education and training on best practices for identification and treatment of eating disorders.
Eating Recovery Foundation Programs
The Eating Recovery Foundation supports the following programs to expand awareness and information on the treatment of eating disorders for the general public, with a special emphasis on families, patients and treatment providers.
Eating Disorders Information Gateway
The Eating Disorders Information Gateway is a resource that provides a single portal through which the eating disorders community – including patients, families and treatment professionals – can access a variety of materials to advance public understanding of eating disorders. Consolidating and archiving the essential information will minimize search time, maximize transparency, and provide patients, families and professionals with easy access to relevant information.
Eating Disorder Research
The Eating Recovery Foundation makes grants to support research in the area of eating disorders with the goal of improving diagnosis, treatment and recovery for patients and families. The foundation also works with The Body Project Collaborative to bring The Body Project to college campuses.
Charitable Care Fund
A Charitable Care Fund will be established to help defray out-of-pocket costs for patients and families, assist with transition out of covered care, or help extend benefits or treatment beyond what is covered by insurance.
The Eating Recovery Foundation will develop training programs to help support families of eating disordered patients.
