Lapses and relapses occur often in eating disorder recovery. Early identification and intervention can prevent these episodes from turning into significant eating disorder illness. This presentation will discuss potential precursors to lapses and relapses as well as provide intervention strategies to prevent a relapse from derailing the recovery journey.
The target audience for this continuing education program is mental health providers and clinicians working with individuals with mental health diagnoses. Materials are appropriate for learners with an introductory level of understanding about mental health concerns.

- Identify predictors of relapse in individuals in recovery from an eating disorder
- Discuss relapse intervention strategies for individuals at risk
- Describe how to discuss relapse and relapse prevention with patients and clients
