Do Eating Disorder Treatment Outcomes Differ for Transgender & Gender-Diverse Patients?

In her role as medical director at Eating Recovery Center, Dr. Megan Riddle and her team regularly treat transgender and gender-diverse patients. But she was curious: do their treatment outcomes differ from cisgender patients? She and her research team — co-authors including Dan V. Blalock PhD, Alan Duffy MS, Philip Mehler MD, FACP, FAED, CEDS, and Renee Rienecke PhD, FAED — aimed to fill the void in literature and data and committed to studying this subject to learn more.

Learn more about the paper titled, "Comparing eating disorder treatment outcomes of transgender and gender diverse adolescents with those of cisgender adolescents" published in The International Journal of Eating Disorders in March 2024.
