SEATTLE, WA (January 20, 2020)
— In response to the critical need for comprehensive, specialized mental health services in Washington, Insight Behavioral Health Centers
(Insight), a leading treatment provider for mood, anxiety and trauma-related conditions across the U.S., is expanding its services to include Residential care in the Seattle area, accepting patients beginning today. With the 10-bed treatment center, located on the Overlake Medical Center campus in Bellevue, Insight expects to bring significant relief to individuals and communities in need of higher levels of care. Insight will continue to offer Partial Hospitalization (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient (IOP) levels of care for children, adolescents and adults at Insight’s downtown Seattle location.
Insight offers comprehensive, evidence-based treatment for the full spectrum of mood, anxiety and trauma-related conditions. For example, anxiety disorders such as generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorder; mood disorders such as depression and mania; and trauma-related conditions including post-traumatic stress disorder. Insight’s programs help patients to interrupt the cycle of repeat mental health-related emergency room visits and hospital stays by empowering them and their families with the skills to sustain recovery following treatment.
“From their very first interaction with us, which is an assessment with a master’s-level clinician, our patients receive individualized treatment,” said Neeru Bakshi, MD, Medical Director of Insight in Washington. “We offer a four-part journey: After first guiding patients into the appropriate level of care, we then design personal recovery plans. Throughout treatment, we also empower their support system, providing patients and the people who surround them with tools that form the foundation of their recovery. Finally, we’re dedicated to supporting our patients throughout their ongoing recovery, even after they’ve left our care.”
The residential expansion to Insight’s well-established mood and anxiety program in Seattle answers the need for specialized, 24-hour care that has been absent in Washington. Anxiety disorders are among the most common mental illnesses in America, with 21% of adults affected (according to Mental Health America), and they’re the leading cause for mental health-related emergency room visits. Insight’s evidence-based treatment programs educate and support patients to achieve long-lasting recovery and wellness.
Founded and led by nationally recognized expert psychologist Susan McClanahan, PhD, Insight is a well-established program with more than 15 years of treatment excellence and 13 treatment centers in six states, including Residential, Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient levels of care. With the expansion to include their Residential treatment program in Washington, Insight is introducing new additions to the clinical leadership team: Stephanie Fox, LMHC, has joined as Clinical Director and Nicole Tallent, LCSW, as Clinical Manager.
Fox is a licensed mental health counselor and substance use disorder professional, with a background that includes working in community mental health, intensive outpatient addiction recovery programs, school counseling, private practice, clinical supervision and involuntary inpatient treatment. Prior to joining Insight, Fox worked as the director of an outpatient eating disorder treatment program and an inpatient substance use disorder treatment program. Fox is also a registered yoga instructor, having completed her yoga teacher training while in graduate school for counseling psychology.
“Each patient’s expert care team works collaboratively in a robust curriculum of psychotherapy rooted in evidence-based treatment,” said Fox. “That includes family programming and post-treatment support through check-ins, support groups, community events, and more. I look forward to applying my experience and leading the expert team here at Insight and helping more patients break the cycle of crisis care.”
Tallent is coming to Overlake from Insight in Chicago, where she’s worked for the last three years as a Behavioral Health Counselor, a Primary Therapist and most recently as Clinical Manager. She received her master’s degree in social work from the University of Utah. While she has experience working in all levels of care as well as with adolescents in foster care, most of her experience is in higher levels of care with adults with mental illness and substance use disorders.
“More options for higher levels of mental health care are sorely needed, not just here but all across the country,” Tallent said. “When people get the right level of care at the right time, we have the best chance for a positive outcome and lasting recovery.”
Insight, an Eating Recovery Center (ERC) company, will open its Residential mood, anxiety and trauma-related practice in the ERC space at 1231 116th
