Benjamin F. Shepherd is a PhD student in Clinical Psychology at Nova Southeastern University. As a psychotherapist, he provides culturally-responsive, trauma-informed, weight-inclusive, and bilingual care to English- and Spanish-speaking individuals and couples who experience a range of behavioral health concerns, including disordered eating. As a researcher, he specializes in examining the mechanisms underlying behavioral health disparities faced by marginalized communities, with a focus on fostering resistance against various forms of stigma among LGBTQ+ people with intersecting identities.
