Biography
Dr. Allison Mecca initially joined Eating Recovery Center as a clinical psychology post-doctoral fellow in eating disorders and then transitioned into the role of a Primary Therapist, serving individuals with a range of eating pathology at the PHP and IOP levels of care. With a background of training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Radically Open – Dialectical Behavior Therapy (RO-DBT), and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Dr. Mecca has recently assumed the role of clinical lead of the newly developed Mood, Anxiety, and Trauma-related program. Prior to ERC, she worked at Charis Center for Eating Disorders, Butler University Counseling Center, and Xavier University Psychological Services Center. Dr. Mecca strives to support individuals in moving away from their disorders that keep them stuck and moving towards a valued and connected life that is worth living. She is passionate about supporting and advocating for her patients, as well as fostering awareness and education in the community.
