Fanice Thomas, PhD

Fanice Thomas, PhD, is a T- 32 Postdoctoral Research Scholar at the Prevention Research Center in St. Louis and the Center for Healthy Weight and Wellness. Her research interests include creating, implementing, and evaluating interventions that promote engagement in healthy eating and physical activity, and using evidence-based research to promote policies that reduce health inequality by addressing the social, economic, and environmental barriers that impede individuals’ engagement in health promoting behaviors. She is especially interested in working with minority and low-income populations, who often experience a disproportional burden of obesity. Thomas received her PhD in social psychology from North Carolina University. She is also a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation trained Health Policy Research Scholar.
