Heather VanHooser, MBA, MSN, RN

Chief Nursing Officer

Heather joined ERC Pathlight as Chief Nursing Officer in 2023. She holds three bachelor’s degrees, a MBA, and a Master’s in Nursing and Leadership. In her 15 years of nursing, she has advanced from a floor nurse in a small medical surgical/behavioral health unit in Detroit to assistant chief nursing officer at HCA Kingwood near Houston, TX. While there, she and her leadership team earned the company’s highest employee engagement scores for two consecutive years. She was a member of their women’s network and worked with their mental health colleague network to make mental wellbeing more than a catch phrase.

She’s highly skilled at removing barriers for teammates to thrive by building standards and processes that promote collaboration and creative thinking. She’s energized by working with people to achieve the best outcomes for patients.

Heather grew up in Michigan and moved south to Texas in 2012. She currently lives just outside Houston with her husband, 5-year-old daughter, and four pets.
