Biography

Kathryn Bruno has supported patients and staff at Eating Recovery Center of Ohio since April of 2016. She began her work there as a clinician, establishing a music therapy program as well as leading other therapeutic groups with a focus in Radically Open Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. Her experience at ERC has fostered a passion for milieu-based care in the treatment of eating disorders, and her tenure has allowed her opportunity to shape the patient experience from the day of admission to discharge. Kathryn transitioned into the practice coordinator role in February of 2021, where she continues to support the program from an operations perspective.

Kathryn’s background and training is as a board-certified music therapist. Kathryn received her degree in Music Therapy from Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina. Prior to joining ERC Pathlight, Kathryn worked as a music therapist at a pediatric hospital for six years where she developed the music therapy program for individuals with eating disorders hospitalized for medical stabilization. Kathryn has been published in books and peer reviewed journals about the benefits of music therapy and has presented on the local and national level about music therapy with individuals with eating disorders.
