Overview of Clinical Training

ERC Insight is a nationally-recognized and Joint Commission accredited mental health treatment center offering high-quality training experiences for psychiatry residents, postdoctoral fellows in psychology, doctoral-level psychology interns, practicum students in psychology, and masters-level interns in social work and counseling.
ERC Insight is firmly committed to providing a comprehensive training experience designed to encourage the development of clinical skills and prepare students for the next level of training as well as for a career as a mental health professional.  We offer a dynamic, enriching learning environment with many opportunities for individual and group supervision, didactic seminars, specialty trainings, case conferences, and team staffing with experts in the field.
Trainees at all levels are part of the large multidisciplinary team at ERC Insight as well as a member of a specific treatment program.  Treatment programs include the Eating Disorders Program, Mood and Anxiety Program, Adolescent Program, and Binge Eating Treatment and Recovery Program.

About Anne Kubal, PhD, CEDS-S, Director of Clinical Training

lrg_staff_annekDr. Kubal the Director of Clinical Training at ERC-Insight and oversees the practicum, intern, and postdoctoral fellow training programs.  She earned her master’s degree in Counseling Psychology at Northwestern University and received her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Michigan State University.  She completed her postdoctoral fellowship at Northwestern University’s Counseling and Psychological Services, specializing in the treatment of eating disorders.  Her clinical and research interests include eating disorders, nonsuicidal self-injury, perfectionism, relational issues, and supervision and training.
Dr. Kubal is a member of the American Psychological Association, Academy of Eating Disorders, and International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals (iaedp).  She is a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist through iaedp and is also an iaedp-approved supervisor. Dr. Kubal serves on the executive board of the Heartland iaedp chapter as chapter secretary and previously served as the Student Liaison Chairperson.  She has presented at national and international conferences and teaches a graduate course on the treatment of eating disorders in the Certificate of Graduate Study in Eating Disorders and Obesity program at Northern Illinois University. She is a Health System Clinician at Northwestern University, Feinberg School of Medicine, and serves on the Intern Training Committee at Northwestern University.
