Overview of Clinical Training
ERC Insight is a nationally-recognized and Joint Commission accredited mental health treatment center offering high-quality training experiences for psychiatry residents, clinical psychology and counseling psychology post-doctoral fellows and doctoral interns, practicum students in psychology, and masters-level interns in social work and counseling.
ERC Insight is firmly committed to providing a comprehensive training experience designed to encourage the development of clinical skills and prepare students for the next level of training as well as for a career as a mental health professional. We offer a dynamic, enriching learning environment with many opportunities for individual and group supervision, didactic seminars, specialty trainings, case conferences, and team staffings with experts in the field.
Trainees at all levels are part of the large multi-disciplinary team at ERC Insight as well as a member of a specific treatment program, including options such as the Eating Disorders Program, mood and anxiety program (MAP), adolescent program (AP), compulsive overeating, binge eating and non-diet weight management program (CORE), and the residential services program.
About Anne Kubal, PhD, Director of Clinical Training
Dr. Kubal is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and the Director of Clinical Training at ERC Insight.
Dr. Kubal is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and the Director of Clinical Training at ERC Insight. She earned her master’s degree in Counseling Psychology at Northwestern University and received her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Michigan State University. She completed her postdoctoral fellowship at Northwestern University’s Counseling and Psychological Services, specializing in the treatment of eating disorders. Her clinical and research interests include eating disorders, nonsuicidal self-injury, perfectionism, relational issues, and supervision and training.
Dr. Kubal is a member of the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals (iaedp) and has served as the Student Liaison Chairperson for the Heartland iaedp chapter in the past. She has presented at national and international conferences, and teaches a graduate course on the treatment of eating disorders in the Certificate of Graduate Study in Eating Disorders and Obesity program at Northern Illinois University. She is a Health System Clinician at Northwestern University, Feinberg School of Medicine, and serves on the Intern Training Committee at Northwestern University.
