Residential Program for Children, Teens and Adults

Our residential eating disorder treatment program is designed for patients that need 24-hour support, including around-the-clock observation and daytime medical and psychiatric supervision. Individuals in the residential program no longer require the same intensity of medical support and stabilization provided in our inpatient program.

A structured schedule incorporates groups, community meetings and individual therapy to model a recovery-based daily structure. This helps patients overcome destructive routines, rules and behaviors. The treatment program also focuses on the factors maintaining patients' eating disorders, recovery skills, and relapse prevention.

Eating Disorder Therapy

Our compassionate therapists provide a number of evidence-based treatments to support behavioral changes, including:

Experiential therapies including art, psychodrama, mindfulness, movement and yoga are also part of our program.

Treatment for Adults

Adult patients are able to test recovery in real-world situations, including meal and activity outings as well as day and weekend passes, to identify recovery challenges and determine readiness for entry into a lower level of care with more autonomy.

Our adult residential programs are based in Colorado (in Downtown Denver and the Lowry neighborhood), Washington, Texas and Chicago.

Residential Eating Disorder Treatment Program for Children and Teenagers

Each child/adolescent patient is assigned a Primary Clinician who works intensely with both the patient and their family. Supervised activity and meal outings, as well as passes for spending time with family, are available to help young patients test their recovery in real-life settings, and assist the treatment team in identifying the skills that need additional development prior to stepping down to a lower level of care.

Family-Based Treatment for eating disorders

We recognize the critical role parents and loved ones play in a child’s long-term recovery. Our program incorporates a strong family-centered approach, shown to be most effective for helping individuals recover. Our family-centered approach is rooted in the tenets of Family-Based Treatment (FBT), a therapeutic framework in which parents are empowered to become agents of change for their young loved ones to help them sustain recovery into the future.

Family-Based Treatment educates parents and families about eating disorders and enables them to manage the weight restoration and re-feeding processes until the child can assume responsibility for these tasks (when developmentally appropriate).

In addition to regularly scheduled family therapy, parents eat supported meals with their children and work closely with Registered Dietitians to understand fundamentals of nutrition, food portioning and food plating.
