Dr. Mel McGraw Joins Eating Recovery Center, California
Eating Recovery Center, California (ERC, Californica), a trusted provider of comprehensive treatment for eating disorders, announced today the addition of Dr. Mel McGraw to its clinical leadership team. Dr. McGraw has been working at ERC’s headquarters in Denver, CO as an Attending Psychiatrist treating patients at the inpatient, residential, and partial hospitalization levels of care. He now offers his expertise to ERC, California. Mel McGraw, M.D. brings more than 25 years’ experience in the field of medicine to his role as Attending Psychiatrist at ERC, California. Dr. McGraw had his own private practice in Northern California from 1992-2014, where he focused on co-occurring psychiatric disorders and chemical dependency while integrating pharmacotherapy and psychotherapy. Prior to that, he had various roles at hospitals and other treatment facilities throughout the years, including the Center for Recovery and New Beginnings Chemical Dependency Program. In addition to treating co-occurring substance dependence disorders and psychiatric disorders, he also saw cases involving post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and sexual abuse. He served as a consultant to the Boulder County Department of Social Services, Sexual Abuse Team, as well as to the County Court System of Colorado. He has also given presentations and authored various articles on this topic, as well as the topic of sports psychiatry. As Dr. McGraw joins the ERC, California team, Dr. Anna Vinter will step down from her role as Medical Director and Adult Psychiatrist.
