Dori Bowling, LCSW

Dori Bowling, LCSW

Vice President, Quality Assurance

Dori completed her undergraduate degree in Applied Psychology from University of Illinois and immediately began working in the mental health field as a school social worker through a non-profit agency and within police stations and the court system as a domestic violence advocate. While working full time she completed a Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work from Loyola University and then went on to work at one of the very first settlement houses founded in Chicago, Association House of Chicago. During her years there she initially provided individual, group and family therapy to adults and children suffering from mental illness while also developing programs and groups that addressed co-occurring disorders and grief and loss. In 2008 when she became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker she began managing the Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) and Community Support Team (CST) treatment programs for those suffering with severe mental illness who were unable to care for their basic needs so they needed a wraparound model to ensure they stayed safe and healthy. After leaving Association House of Chicago, she went on to be the Director of a 62 bed unit for the severely mentally ill in the Englewood neighborhood in Chicago, where she was afforded the opportunity to learn how to develop policies and procedures to ensure compliance with State and Government regulations.

Dori joined the Pathlight Behavioral Health family in 2011 as the Director of Compliance and Co-Director of the Transitional Living Apartments, where she could use both her clinical and policy building skills to help patients struggling with mood and anxiety disorders as well as eating disorders. Following the merger with Eating Recovery Center she was promoted to the position of Admissions Director assisting with the hiring, training, and policy implementation in the Admissions Department for all of the ERC and Pathlight Locations, while also managing Clinical Assessment staff. She has now been working in the mental health field for more than 15 years within the school, legal, residential, non-profit and for profit sectors with children and adults that suffer with mental illness. She is passionate about helping people change their lives and assisting them in understanding that we all need help at some point, so there should be no shame or distress in coming to our center to find healing.
